Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch Date
The brand plans to launch the 18 Fold in China on September 7, 2026. The smartphone was already shown ahead of its official launch at IFA 2026. Xiaomi revealed its design along with some of its key hardware features at the event. The brand has not yet confirmed a global or Indian launch date.
Design
Xiaomi has taken a different approach with the Xiaomi 18 Fold design. Instead of the tall and narrow design common among book-style foldable phones, Xiaomi 18 Fold features a wider “mid-fold” design. The phone looks like a passport when closed because of its wider shape. When opened, it offers a large screen with more horizontal space.
It features rounded corners and a horizontal camera module on the back. Reports also suggest that the new Xiaomi phone includes a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch inner foldable display. The wider outer screen makes everyday tasks like messaging, browsing and watching videos more comfortable.
Also, it eliminates the need to open the phone each time you receive a message. The striking deep red finish has already become one of the phone’s standout features.

The new Xiaomi 18 Fold will be powered by Xiaomi’s XRing O3, a new 3nm flagship processor developed by Xiaomi itself. The brand said to have developed its own processor to have more control over the hardware and software in its premium phones.
The XRing O3 is reportedly a 10-core processor with a 16-core GPU and a four-core NPU. It is specifically designed for artificial intelligence workloads. The chip has achieved more than five million points in AnTuTu V11 testing.
Nonetheless, benchmark scores do not always reflect real-life performance. The real test will be how well the processor handles gaming, multitasking, photography and AI features while keeping heat and battery usage under control.
B. LPDDR6 Memory
LPDDR6 Memory is yet another major highlight. Moreover, this new foldable device is expected to use LPDDR6 memory, which is supplied by Chinese memory manufacturer CXMT.
