Poco F8 Pro Review

Let’s take a closer look at its design, performance, and overall user experience.

1. Design and Display

Poco F8 Pro Design and Display

The F8 Pro features a one-piece milled glass design on the back panel. Poco has used a single block of glass to create a distinct, glossy “deco” around the camera module. This addition gives it a more premium look. Additionally, the phone includes metal middle frame with gently micro-curved edges.

Besides that, it boasts slim built and lightweight design for balance and aesthetics. The phone is 8 mm thick and weighs 199 grams, which makes it feel less bulky. The Poco F8 Pro is more compact and is built around a 6.59-inch display (down from the 6.67-inch panel in the previous model).

It still supports 120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit color depth. The build quality is great and it also includes water and dust resistance (IP68) rating for durability and everyday usability.

2. Chipset

The Poco F8 Pro comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, which makes it one of the best devices in this price segment.

3. Camera System

The camera setup has got some really outstanding upgrades. The familiar 50MP main sensor is now complemented by a dedicated 2.5× optical zoom camera, alongside the returning 8MP ultrawide lens.

4. Performance

Poco F8 Pro Performance

With AnTuTu score of 2,661,660 and Geekbench Scores of 2882/8957, the Poco F8 Pro offers “flagship-level” performance. It makes heavy multitasking, gaming, video editing and intensive workloads a breeze for users. Compared to its direct rivals, and previous Poco models, the Poco F8 Pro is the clear winner.

Moreover, the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 makes it a much desirable choice for users as it offers much stable and reliable performance.

5. Software

Poco F8 Pro runs on HyperOS 3, and it’s based on Android 16. This is the same operating system that powers Xiaomi’s top models. HyperOS is one of the best software so far as it offers clean and seamless performance.

6. Advanced Features & AI-Capabilities

This new device offers some of the cutting-edge features, including speech recognition, live translation, writing assistance and subtitles. Additionally, it includes AI Tools, such as Eraser Pro, AI Frame and more for creating and editing documents.

7. Impressive Battery Life

Poco F8 Pro includes a 6,210 mAh battery (which is much larger than its predecessors). Also, it uses silicon-carbon tech to achieve this high capacity. It offers 100W fast charging. Charging speed is pretty impressive as it offers 78% charging in just 30 min.

However, the unavailability of wireless charging option may disappoint you.

8. Audio Quality and Haptics

The new Poco F8 Pro includes a stereo speaker system with the sound tuned by BOSE. The audio can sound slightly harsh with a narrow soundstage, and at high volumes, compression makes the treble feel edgy. However, the built-in 10-band EQ helps fine-tune the sound. There’s also no 3.5 mm headphone jack.

9. Pricing

The new Poco F8 Pro phone starts at $579 (€469), and is in direct competition with Google Pixel 9a and the Galaxy S25 FE.

Buyers may feel a bit of disappointment as the retail box comes without charger inside. The package includes a silicon case, a USB-C to USB-A cable for charging and data transfer along with a quick users’ guide.

So, Is It A Good Buy?

The Poco F8 Pro offers a lot of outstanding features and capabilities, which makes it a great choice for buyers planning to buy a new device in 2025 or beyond. The Battery and OS are top-tier, even the camera capabilities are outstanding. However, there are some areas where it lacks charm, and that include the unavailability of wireless charging and the underperformance of ultra-wide camera.

However, if you don’t mind the unavailability of wireless charging and camera performance, then it’s a great flagship device at this price.
