OnePlus 13s First Impression Unboxing and Review

OnePlus 13s unboxing is like unwrapping the future. So, this is the initial reaction after seeing what is in the box, what it is like in hand, and why this phone could surprise you.

Opening the box of a new smartphone is always special. It is like unwrapping the future you have been waiting for; you know what is in it, but you still want to see it up close. Today, I had the opportunity to unbox the OnePlus 13s, the new flagship of OnePlus, which is already stirring up some hype on the Internet. After all the hype about its new design, improved specs, and high-quality feel, I was interested to find out by myself whether the experience meets the expectations. It did impress me out of the box.

In this informative guide, I will take you through everything in the box, my initial thoughts on the design and display, and why I believe the OnePlus 13s could be one of the most anticipated phones of the year.

The Box: Clean, Minimal, and Premium

OnePlus has constantly aced the art of packing, and the OnePlus 13’s box is not an exception. It is minimalistic, clean, and has an instant premium feel. Something as simple as the classical OnePlus red adorns the otherwise plain matte white box. The embossed branding on the front is just enough to make it look elegant.

The box opens easily, and all the contents are well layered. There is a phone on top, and beneath it is a tray in which the documents, accessories, and the charger are kept. The unboxing experience is satisfactory and purposeful, as though each aspect was planned to leave an impression.

Even the lid opening has the kind of soft, smooth pull that represents quality. It’s also obvious that OnePlus did not only concentrate on the phone itself, but also on the process of getting this phone.

What’s in the Box?

So what are the real contents? The OnePlus 13s comes with everything stuffed in:

  • OnePlus 13s phone: Matte Black in my box, although it’s also available in Glacier Silver and Aurora Blue.
  • SUPERVOOC 100W fast charger: Yes, you will get the charger along with the phone.
  • USB Type-C to Type-C cable: Tough and trendy, it’s the familiar red and white OnePlus color theme.
  • Pre-installed screen protector: Thin, clear, tough, has no hard edges, and is practically invisible.
  • Transparent TPU case: Soft, flexible, provides instant protection
  • SIM ejector tool: Kept in folder nicely
  • Quick start guide with warranty documents: Well-printed documents about the phone and other accessories.

In 2025, fewer brands continued to provide a charger and a case in the package, so bravo to OnePlus, which does not save on corners. The case is not special, but it will tide you over until you can purchase something more potent or with more flair.

The charger is reputedly quick, as based on the specs, it can take your phone from 0 to 100 percent in roughly 25 minutes.

First Look at the Device

It was a gratifying experience to peel off the plastic wrap and then hold it in my hands for the first time. The matte glass rear is silky yet provides a good grip. It also has a fingerprint-resistant finish, which is a godsend to all of us who hate cleaning phones every 10 minutes. The frame is of aluminum with a polished finish, which gives the phone a strong, firm frame.

The rear camera bump is big and round, taking inspiration from the daring design of the OnePlus 12; however, it currently features a more refined and balanced outlook. It is elevated, yet it disappears into the backplate.

The phone is unexpectedly light, given its size and weight, balance is almost perfect. It has a comfortable balance that ensures that it is comfortable to hold for lengthy periods, be it when watching videos, playing games or scrolling through social media.

Build Quality and Design

The build is one area where OnePlus has upped its game. The OnePlus 13s looks and feels like a true flagship device, solid, well-refined, and well-designed. The sides are a bit rounded, yet flat enough to hold on to firmly. The phone is also slim without sacrificing premium materials. The alert slider is present, a trademark that OnePlus users are fond of. It is also gratifying to be able to toggle between silent, vibrate, and ring modes without unlocking the screen.

It also has IP68 water and dust resistance, so splashes, rain, and even accidental water immersion will not cause the phone any trouble. The position of the buttons is perfect as well. The volume rocker and power button are also tactile and readily accessible, even when using just one hand. This phone is a screaming flagship in all angles, it is advanced, classy and minimalistic yet not boring.

Display Glimpse

The moment I turned it on, its 6.8-inch AMOLED LTPO 4.0 display lit up, and the display looks beautiful. The bezels are near non-existent, and the screen extends a gorgeous edge-to-edge. Peaking at 2800 nits of brightness, colors stand out even on a sunny day. The blacks are rich, and the whites are clean.

The dynamic refresh rate (1Hz to 120Hz) will guarantee scrolling jerk-free and power efficiency. This screen automatically changes in real-time, depending on what you are doing, whether reading, gaming, or streaming.

It feels like watching a movie when you watch videos on YouTube and Netflix. The stereo speakers on both sides are the perfect match to the visuals, as the audio is rich and loud. The panel is vivid and easy to look at, even at 60 percent brightness. The honest feeling is that the display is going to be one of the selling points of this phone.

Final Thoughts

OnePlus 13s started on the right note. The unboxing experience was exciting, the design is sophisticated, and the care about details can be noticed in every aspect of the package. Looks like OnePlus is not merely attempting to chase the trends here; they are looking to set a new standard of what a flagship experience ought to be.

The fact that the basics, such as a charger and case, are included, the fact that the OnePlus 13s feels so sleek in the hand and has a gorgeous display, all of this makes the device feel well considered.

Whether you are hesitating to upgrade or you have never tried OnePlus but are interested, I would recommend taking a closer look at the 13s. It feels and looks like a real flagship.
